Great Lakes Municipal Consultants exists to help communities build better government through strategic governance. Local government exists to deliver services to the taxpayers that are either mandated (tax collection, elections, property assessing) or discretionary (nearly everything else). Conflict is inevitable, as constituents have competing wants and needs for limited tax dollars. About me
Finding my own community in political turmoil back in 2009 was the driving force in my getting involved in local government . Bringing business skills developed over a 30 year successful career in sales and management to public sector administration provided a glimpse into a new way to think about service delivery and strategic governance. Saving millions of dollars for local taxpayers by decreasing legacy costs, increasing recreational amenities, instilling a customer service culture in government, and engaging citizens in community based strategic planning is its own reward. I started this company to help elected and appointed officials rethink how we govern, and find purpose and passion in servant leadership.
